The Veg Lady began in 2023 when Alice and Laurence moved to Chettle to take on a land tenancy, with the aim of producing food for the village and local community using Chettle soils. After a year of setting up the infrastructure and getting to know the land and our community, we had our first growing season in 2024 and are fully underway with planting up the crops are enjoying the early harvests for 2025.

Since our lonely early days, we have grown to be a happy team of 5 part time and full time farmers, each fostering individual skills and passions to bring the healthiest and best tasting veg to plates all over Dorset.

We aim to bring fun and excitement to growing food. When buying our veg, you can be sure that it's been grown with love, conscience for the soil and environment and a whole heap of joy!
